§ 4 Collection of personal data by LinkedIn

(1) The European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled in its judgement on June 5, 2018

http://curia.europa.eu/juris/document/document.jsf?text=&docid=202543&pageIndex=0&doclang=DE&mode=req&dir=&occ=first&part=1&cid=298398

, that the operator of a LinkedIn company site is jointly responsible with LinkedIn for the processing of personal data. This judgment applies analogously to the present processing with LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company.

(2) When you visit our LinkedIN company website, LinkedIn records, among other things, your IP address and other information that is available on your PC in the form of cookies. This information is used to provide us, as the operator of the LinkedIn company website, with statistical information about the use of the LinkedIn company website.

(3) The data collected about you in this context will be processed by LinkedIn and possibly transferred to countries outside the European Union. LinkedIn describes in general terms what information LinkedIn receives and how it is used in its data policy. There you will also find information about contact options for LinkedIn and the setting options for advertisements.

You can find LinkedIn's full data policy here:

https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy?trk=homepage-basic_footer-privacy-policy

(4) How LinkedIn uses the data from visits to LinkedIn company pages for its own purposes, to what extent activities on the LinkedIn company page are assigned to individual users, how long LinkedIn stores this data and whether data from a visit to the LinkedIn company page is passed on to third parties, is not named conclusively and clearly by LinkedIn and is not known to us.

(5) When you access a LinkedIn company website, the IP address assigned to your device is transmitted to LinkedIn. According to LinkedIn, this IP address is anonymized (for "German" IP addresses) and deleted after 90 days. LinkedIn also stores information about its users' end devices (e.g. as part of the "registration notification" function); If necessary, LinkedIn is able to assign IP addresses to individual users.

(6) If you are currently logged in to LinkedIn as a user, there is a cookie on your device with your LinkedIn ID. This enables LinkedIn to understand that you have visited this page and how you have used it. This also applies to all other LinkedIn company pages. LinkedIn buttons integrated into websites enable LinkedIn to record your visits to these website pages and to assign them to your LinkedIn profile. This data can be used to offer content or advertising tailored to you.

(7) If you want to avoid this, you should log out of LinkedIn or deactivate the "stay logged in" function, delete the cookies on your device and close and restart your browser. In this way, LinkedIn information through which you can be directly identified is deleted. This allows you to use our LinkedIn company page without revealing your LinkedIn ID. When you access the interactive functions of the site (like, comment, share, news, etc.), a LinkedIn login screen appears. After you have logged in, you can be recognized again as a specific user by LinkedIn.

(8) Information on how you can manage or delete existing information about you can be found on the following LinkedIn support pages: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/user-agreement?src=direct%2Fnone&veh=direct%2Fnone%7Cdirect%2Fnone
